Steamboat House

Visit some history, enjoy a delicious dinner and remember your own relationship history.

“Steamboat House” was the name of the last residence of the great Sam Houston and it is the inspiration for this one of a kind restaurant and Texas history museum.  The Steamboat House is one the best steakhouses in Texas and the food is excellent.  After dinner you can stroll through the hallways where the story of Texas comes alive in all of the paintings and display.

Relationship Reconnection:
The Steamboat house is about the history of Texas and the legacy of Sam Houston.  Make this date night about your history.  Reminisce about how you met your spouse and talk about the life and story you have created.   John Gottman teaches, “Marriage isn’t just about raising kids, splitting chores, and making love.  It can also have a spiritual dimension that has to do with creating an inner life together –a culture rich with rituals and an appreciation for your roles and goals that link you, that lead you to understand what it means to be a part of the family you have become.”  What makes your marriage extraordinary, what would be in your history museum?
