Couples that Read Together

Ever get lost in a good book? Why not enjoy that experience with your spouse? Check out the Julia Ideson Building. It is part of the Houston Public Library system. Pick out a book you both would enjoy reading. Take turns reading the book out loud and pause to share your thoughts. You can also read the same book separately, and have your own personal book club at home. Not only is it a great place to read a good book, but it is also has amazing architecture and is full of Houston history. The building has more to offer than a relaxing place to read, so head on over there to see for yourself.

If reading together works up an appetite, try a local restaurant called Murphy’s Deli. It is about a 2 minute walk from the library. Murphy’s Deli has a great selection of sandwiches and wraps for very affordable prices.

Revitalize that Relationship!

Either in the library, or the comfort of your home, discuss a book or screenplay you would like to write. Whether or not you would actually follow through with it, talk with your spouse about a silly or serious book topic. What’s the genre? Who are the main characters? What issues are they going through? How do they conquer in the end? Just relax and have fun with it. Don’t worry about being realistic, (Hollywood doesn’t), just focus on creating something with the love of your life.
