Volunteer Houston

Did you know there are events all over Houston all year long? All you need to do is get on Yelp.com and you will see so many different things that you can enjoy, get involved with and learn from. If you don’t feel like checking it out though, that’s okay, I’ve been looking around for you and I’m really excited to share some of these upcoming events that might be just the thing you’re looking for.

There are lots of reasons that serving others is wonderful, and some of the benefits can really help bring you closer to your spouse. On October 18, 2015 you can go look at some featured organizations that are looking for volunteers. Check out the link here for details and directions.

While looking around at the Volunteer Houston event see what kinds of service projects interest your spouse. See if there is a volunteer project that you and your spouse can both be passionate about.

When my great grandparents were alive my great grandmother’s favorite hobby was to can. She found so much joy in preserving food, sharing it with those in need and being prepared to provide nourishment for her family. My great grandfather had a love and a talent for gardening. While doing separate tasks, they grew so close together because they were serving each other and those around them in a way that they truly loved.

Try to find something like this example that you and your spouse can bond over while serving others. It might just surprise you to notice some of the talents and qualities that your spouse has that are highlighted during those future service dates.
