Fishing at Spring Creek (77377)

Being outdoors and experiencing the fresh air can lift your spirits and get you out of the grind of everyday life. One way to have an excuse to be outdoors is to go fishing. Whether you’re a professional or the closest you’ve come to a fish is on your flat screen TV, fishing can be a great opportunity for you to get out of the house and be together in a different scene. Stay local and try fresh water fishing along Spring Creek. If you need to purchase permits check out the Texas Parks and Wildlife website where you can purchase them online. Don’t let the idea scare you away if you’ve never been before. Consider asking someone you know who fishes to come along and show you two some basics. Or even research online to learn the basics before getting your supplies and going. Takemefishing.org has lots of information on fishing techniques and some video tutorials to help out.

While you’re waiting for your big catch, use these questions to initiate discussion:

1.  Do you like seafood? What’s your favorite seafood dish?
2.  If you could fish in any lake or sea in the world, where would it be? Why?
3. When’s the last time you went fishing, if ever? What was your experience like?
4. What’s your favorite kind of sushi? If you’ve never had it, would you ever consider trying it? (Sounds like another date idea!)
5. Would you rather live in a sailboat on the ocean for a year never touching land but have all the supplies you need available or live off the land on a beautiful island- working and sweating for your food and provisions?
6. Have you ever been on a cruise? What was your experience like?
7. If you could breathe underwater for 24 hours (like a mermaid), how would you spend the day?
