Holocaust Museum

This Museum aims to educate about the Holocaust and the genocides in a way to teach the dangers of prejudice and apathy. It is very educational to come here and learn more. There are guided tours and permanent exhibits which include:

  • Bearing Witness
  •  A Community Remembers: visual display of the beginning of Nazis and the progression from being segregated all the way to concentration camps and extermination.
  • WWII Holocaust Railcar: car used to carry millions of Jews to their death.
  • Danish Rescue Boat: boat used to save over 7,200 Jews from Nazi Germany.
  • Family Memorial Room: room dedicated to reflection and mediation, contains a three-part work of art- the Wall of Remembrance, the Wall of Tears and the Wall of Hope. There is also and educational center, and the library holds over 4,000 titles related to the Holocaust, it’s extraordinary!

A couple can take the time to learn about their own personal history. If there is a family member that has experienced these things back then, or if you are able to dig into family history, learning about the stories that bind families together is another way a couple stays together.
