Lawrence Shipley, Sr. created an amazing do nut recipe in 1936.  Since that time Shipley’s Do Nuts has over 60 varieties, with the plain glazed being the most popular. Stop at the one on Ella Blvd. and pick out a few to share together.

Drive around the corner to American Legion Park. American Legion Park is located at 3621 Golf Dr.- just around the corner from Shipley’s Do Nuts off of Judiway St.  The park features swings, playground equipment, shade trees, picnic tables, and a baseball diamond.

Push each other on the swings, see who can swing the highest, play hide and go seek, or play tag.  Just have fun being with each other without a care in the world.  Enjoy your donuts under the shade of a tree or at the picnic tables.  As you are eating your donuts together tell each other stories from your childhood and the fun times you had as a kid.
