Recipe Rush

Everyone loves great food, right? Well, how about you recreate some great food by looking up different recipes with your spouse and together choose one that you would like to make tonight. You can look at old cook books or at different recipe sites online. You may end up having to take a rushed trip to the store to get everything you need if you haven’t planned for it already, but that’s what makes it more fun! Come back home and make your chosen recipe together, maybe playing some music that you both enjoy in the background.

Your daily R&R Tip! (Relationship Reconnection):
Make sure that you aren’t just putting together ingredients just for the heck of it. This needs to become a meaningful date where you learn something new about each other in order to strengthen the emotional intimacy within your marriage. With each ingredient you mix into your creation, take turns telling each other something that the ingredient reminds you of. It could be a memory from your childhood, something that happened at work, or even something good about your spouse. For example, the ingredient “salt” could remind you of your elementary school days where teachers would sprinkle salt outside of their doorways and on the sidewalks outside so that the snow would melt so no one would trip. Make it a fun and enjoyable experience for the both of you!
